From the standout soils of Tuscany comes this delicious and food-friendly red. The lovely, perfumed nose has aromas of a meadow brimming with wildflowers and fresh herbs like fennel, thyme, and oregano. On the palate, a heady mix of red fruit and blackberries gives way to ripe plum flavors and the added complexity of well-integrated oak.
True to its name, Under the Tuscan Sun is a wonderful example of the red blends so common to this region. A mix of 60% cabernet sauvignon, 30% merlot, and 10% syrah, it’s an exciting newcomer to the market. The grapes were grown in soil that had been allowed to rest for more than 40 years in order to accumulate more of the organic matter that leads to natural fertility. It represents the successful outcome of a mission to cultivate limited production vines where the land is given its voice through the wines it yields.

Like many Tuscan reds, Under the Tuscan Sun is an ideal partner for food. Try it with pizza, pasta with Bolognese sauce, meat lasagna, or roasted meats. Or try it as a starter with an Italian cheese, like Piave.
