Authentic Italian pastas filled with deliciousness and made with love, just for us! Years ago, we asked Antonio Marchetti, our Italian Classics pasta supplier, to work with our own chefs to develop a line of unique filled pastas. His company, Bertagni, was founded in Bologna in 1882 and is Italy’s oldest filled pasta manufacturer. The artisan pastas they craft for us have generous fillings of authentic Italian ingredients wrapped in very delicate pasta. “Pasta should be like a bridal veil, soft, silky, and light,” says Antonio, “it must serve the filling.” Antonio also adds that, unlike dried pastas, fresh pastas should never be cooked al dente (you’ll find specific cooking time suggestions right on the packages).
These fresh pastas are the perfect start for quick, easy meals, especially when paired with our flavorful Amore pasta sauces and a simple green salad. Look for varieties like classic Cheese Ravioli as well as seasonal favorites, like Butternut Squash Ravioli, Eggplant Parmesan Ravioli, and Mushroom and Cheese Mezzelune (Italian for “half moon”) in our refrigerated dairy cases.
