John and Brendan Ready deliver fresh, exceptionally delicious lobster straight from the piers of Portland, Maine. The Ready brothers grew up in Cape Elizabeth, ME, and were introduced to Maine’s famous lobster industry when they were very young—their grandfather and uncle “paid” them with castoff wooden lobster traps. The enterprising boys repaired the traps and used them to start their own business before they were even teens! “It’s hard and demanding work, challenging and unpredictable out in nature’s elements every day,” says Brendan. “But it’s such a privilege; we’ve loved it since day one!”
Today, Brendan and John work with dozens of independent lobstermen who harvest shellfish from the Gulf of Maine, where the icy cold waters help develop mildly sweet, firm-textured lobsters.
The best of the catch is unloaded right on the docks and delivered to Wegmans within 48 hours!
