Wegmans Announces Reston Opening Date, November Hiring Events

Reston, Virginia, October 28, 2022 – With construction of the new Reston location well underway, Wegmans Food Markets announced today the store’s opening date on Wednesday, February 1, 2023, at 9 a.m. The Reston team is ramping up hiring and training for nearly 200 open positions with an in-person hiring event on Tuesday, November 8, from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The hiring event will take place at The Edmund apartments, located above the site of the future Reston store, at 2025 Fulton Place. Wegmans Reston is located at the intersection of Reston Parkway and Sunrise Valley Drive in the Halley Rise development. The 85,000 sq. ft. store will include a Market Café, coffee shop, and The Burger Bar. The site will have parking below, residential units above, and is accessible by the Reston Town Center Metro station. In total, the store will employ more than 400 people, the majority of whom will be hired locally.

Virginia Virtual Hiring Event
Wegmans is also hiring for positions at locations throughout Virginia and Washington, D.C. The company will host a virtual hiring event on Tuesday, November 1, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., seeking to fill 585 part and full-time positions, including those available at the Reston store.

Available positions include customer service roles throughout the stores in merchandising, front-end, culinary, and perishable departments. All interviews for this event will be conducted virtually, via phone, with no video included.

Applicants are asked to submit an online application in advance of the Virtual Hiring Event. A member of the Wegmans hiring team will contact applicants to schedule a time for the phone interview.
