Senterfitt Farms is typical of the family farms that supply us with Food You Feel Good About Beef. Clay says his work place is paradise and his truck is his office. “You can tell the time of day by where the cattle are grazing,” he says of the free-roaming stock that feed on his 1,000 acres.
Clay’s grandfather, Colonel Jackson, came east with the Air Force in 1978 to found the farm in this rural area of Virginia. “Our family originally ranched out west; there’s even a Texas ghost town with our family name, so it’s in our blood” says Clay. “We learned from the Colonel how to handle cattle with calmness and care, how to work together, and the importance of family.”
