In our efforts to do more good, we’re focused on four main areas.
More Sustainable Growing
At Wegmans Organic Farm & Orchard, we’ve cultivated a thriving center of sustainability, embodying the essence of organics and regenerative agriculture.
More Waste Reduction
To achieve our goal of eliminating waste, we actively contribute through donations to food banks and farms, implement composting initiatives, and continuously explore new recycling programs such as waxed cardboard recycling.
More Sustainable Packaging
In our commitment to sustainable packaging, we prioritize reducing plastic usage and opt for packaging crafted from renewable or recycled materials, effectively conserving resources.
More Responsible Sourcing
To reduce our carbon footprint, we focus on sourcing from farms and suppliers Near Our Stores to minimize food miles, employ CNG and electric vehicles to decrease diesel usage, and prioritize energy efficiency across our operations.
We’re passionate about working with farmers and suppliers along the East Coast to support our communities, help our planet, and bring you the best food from close to home.
We work with a network of 400 family farms and suppliers to bring you products that meet the growing demand for fresh, organic, sustainably grown food. When you shop Near Our Stores products, you’re getting seafood that’s responsibly sourced, meat that’s humanely raised, and produce that’s so fresh because it didn’t have far to travel. Together, we’re helping our communities and our planet thrive, which is something we can all be proud of.
